Whichever version appeals to you, the following ten tips will
help
you make a perfect sangria punch ...
Ten Tips
- if using a red wine, plump for a full-bodied, dry wine
- whether red or white, pick a young wine
- fruits such as cherries, apples and pears mix well with
red wine
- as white wine is more acidic than red, this goes well with
lemons, limes, and oranges
- make sure the fruit - and wine - is good quality
- after mixing the wine and fruit, it's best to leave as
long as possible to allow the fruit juices to be absorbed by the wine
- leave to cool overnight in your fridge if time allows
- add any chilled, fizzy drinks after the mixture has rested
and cooled in the fridge
- throw in ice cubes just before serving
- a tall pitcher or jug is an ideal recipient when sitting
at a table, but a punch bowl is better when throwing a party
